I wanted to drop in a quick post that my short story, "Wheelchair," was published today in Wind Magazine. Founded in 1971, Wind is Kentucky's longest-running literary journal. I'm honored that they took the story, which is about a man who tries to get his ailing wife to a hospital in the aftermath of a blizzard.
You can read the story here: Wind Magazine There's also now a link to the story under the "My Work" tab. Have a wonderful day. If you get a chance to read the story, I'd love to hear your reactions. -AO

Anthony, this was such an amazing piece of work. I felt like I was right there, experiencing everything that this man was going through. Your ability to create an environment based on the nature of surroundings as well as the thoughts and feelings of human beings is incredible. If you haven't already, I hope you decide to write a novel one day. Talent like yours deserves a bigger audience. Congratulations on getting this story published!

I deeply appreciate what you said, Gina. It's always gratifying to know that my work affected someone. The story was accepted in March, but didn't appear till September; at one point I thought the story wouldn't make it, since the magazine's domain expired. But then it happened. Going off the title of your blog, I might say, "darkest before the dawn," right?
